Sam Raimi's Spider-Man captures the spirit of the comic book hero and it's still one of my all time favourite superhero movies. It lays out the perfect blueprint for a superhero origin story that I love revisiting every year or so. I've always been able to relate to Peter Parker growing up. Tobey Maguire and Co. delivered a great interpretation of the characters in a way that still can not be matched.
So many Spiderman movies out there but this will always be the original. Though the other ones have better CGI and maybe action sequences, none can match the plot this one has.
This is one of the few films that you can watch when you're bored and still be excited about what's going to happen (even though you've watched it over and over already and you've memorized almost all of the lines).
I keep telling people that this is the real Spider-Man and I will always stand by that. Tobey Maguire the real MVP!
Films from the 2000s really are way different from the ones we have now. I wish all origin stories could be as good as this one.
You can take your Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield with you. Tobey Maguire is the best Spider-Man of all time and no amount of CGI can change that!
It's 2019 and I still get chills every time I watch this film!
Truly one of the most successful superheroes ever made!
Was, still is, and will forever be one of my favorite childhood superhero movies!
Lot of respect for Tobey Maguire for doing well on this one. He didn't do well in his previous films but he was able to do justice to Spider Man on this one.
Definitely made the list of greatest comic book adaptations.
Man, that scene with Uncle Ben broke my heart big time! Made me even think of my life choices.
I've read the comics and I can say that this is truly the comic book come to life!
You know a film is good when you're able to quote something from it. "With great power, comes great responsibility"
This film is one of the reasons why 2002 was a great time to be alive!
It's not a surprise that this is considered one of the most successful superhero movies ever made.
It's amazing how they were able to balance action and human element in this movie.
To sum it up, this is the first Spider-Man film with everything leveled up.
Sam Raimi sure knows how to make a good superhero film. He was able to give so much depth to Spider-Man, a hero we only know from comic books.
The greatest part about this is Toby Maguire's acting. He made everything so much more believable that it was hard not to be engrossed in the movie.

One of the darkest Indian movies.

I had to make a conscious effort to move, after sitting motionless through the climax and the end credits. I don't recall seeing a darker Indian movie. When the movie ended, I felt UGLYNESS in my soul. That's not supposed to be a good thing, but I imagine that was the purpose.

The story revolves around a 10 year old girl who goes missing. Her biological father is a struggling actor, her mother is an alcoholic and her husband is a top cop. Then there's a guy whose the actor's friend and is a casting director. There are a few more notable characters. The central characters are trying to figure out the whereabouts of the girl, but they all have bones to pick with each other. Here the title comes into play. What's uglier than the supposed kidnapping of the girl is that they all have their vested interests and that they're more keen on satisfying those then actually finding the girl. The journey to the climax brings out the ugliness within these flawed characters. And it's not one for the faint hearted.

Anurag Kashyap is my favorite Indian director of this day and age so I'm always a bit biased towards his movies but Ugly has got to be his finest work till date. The story isn't flawless, but the direction is. Mr Kashyap succeeds completely in bringing out the ugliness of his characters, who could easily be breathing and walking human beings amongst us, which makes it all the more chilling.

The acting by entire cast was superb. Each and every one of them brought their characters alive on screen. You could feel strongly for them, hate, sorrow, pity and a lot more. The screenplay and editing is tight, dialogs too good and natural. I felt there were 2-3 loopholes and if not for them, the actual story could've been perfect.

All in all a definite 9 out of 10 for me.

I'm not the first one to say this, but this film is in the wrong franchise. Of course it was different than previous ones. It is a road movie, though all it reminded me was 'National Lampoon's Vaction'. It has been five years since the last film in the 'Wimpy Kid' series. I understand the reason for recasting, but still I expected to be what it is famous for.

The family decides to take a road trip, instead of flying to attend the grandma's 90th birthday. The mother wants it in an old way. That means no technology throughout the trip. But the kids are so addictive of their phones and so her husband. How they make it, and other troubles that they face during a long journey was told with some fun.

Yeah, I did not say the film isn't any fun. You would enjoy it, as a time pass film, but the laugh is hard to come by. Every bit of the film is one way or other, resembles other films. The actors were good, the direction was good, but not the writing. Despite all these flaws, the kids might enjoy it better than the adults. Just an average film, but not the worst film **as others saying.

This little British romance-drama was not expected by everyone. Without Charlotte Rampling's Oscars nominee for the lead role, it would have been an easily forgotten. Because it is very slow, the story is just okay, but the performances are the saviour IMO. At this age, Charlotte Rampling was looking so good on the screen, her youthful costume was maybe the reason.

The story of a long married couple, the whole movie takes place on the eve of their 45th anniversary celebration. A week to go for their big day, the wife discovers some hidden secret by her hubby. While digging it only gets bigger, but how it would affect their present relationship was told quite interestingly. It was only a single perspective tale, so the detail on the other side are not briefed to us that well. But everything was quite understandable.

In some relationship, some secret needs to be left untouched for good, only if it is not hurting anybody. Life is a long journey if you're an old and to look back your path. What happened a long time ago is not to be judged for the in between timeline events. In someone's perspective, some past incidents are fair. The beauty of this drama is simply lies how smoothly narrated this complicated issue between a husband and wife. Because even if you're not a regular movie goer, still you can name a couple of similar titles, but how unique this was when comparing with those is that's where it betters. It was not so good, but much better in many ways, in its own way.

'45 Years' is a brilliant film. It was very well acted and so tense. The way each scene was shot and the cinematography was beautiful.
